How this cut list optimizer works
The planner expands every quantity into an individual rectangular part, sorts the constrained pieces, and tests permitted orientations against the available rectangles on each sheet. Every placement creates new guillotine-style rectangles after the entered blade kerf is removed.
It favors low-waste placements with repeatable tie-breaking. That makes the result deterministic, but it remains a heuristic best-found plan—not proof of the global optimum. Sheet cutting is a combinatorial problem, and practical layouts also depend on the equipment and handling constraints the browser cannot see.
