Method and limits
The effective-length form correctly accounts for one fewer internal kerf than pieces. If eight parts fit, seven gaps separate those finished pieces. Separating a reusable remainder after the eighth part may require one additional cut.
Blade labels are only a starting point. Tooth set, runout, alignment, and the cutting process can change the actual slot, so use a measured conservative value for important plans.
