24-inch base cabinet cut list and one-sheet layout

This worked starting point turns a 24-inch outside cabinet width into seven finished plywood parts. Every dimension traces back to a stated construction assumption, and the complete list is available as a plain CSV before you adapt it.

A narrower box changes five of seven parts

The two side panels retain the same height and depth as the 30-inch SawNest example. The bottom, shelves, and stretchers shrink with the outside cabinet width. Their combined finished area is 3,269.41 square inches, or 71.0% of a purchased 48 × 96 sheet.

Width and length are the two layout axes, not universal cabinetmaking labels. Verify face-grain direction, joinery, and front-to-back orientation against the actual drawing.

Trace the arithmetic

The cabinet width is an input, not a copied cut dimension.

The captured bottom spans 22 1/2 inches because the 24-inch outside width loses two measured 3/4-inch sides: 24 − (2 × 3/4) = 22 1/2 inches. The shelf is 1/8 inch narrower than that opening and 1/8 inch shallower than the bottom.

If the bottom enters dados, overlaps the side panels, or uses material that does not measure exactly 3/4 inch, recalculate the captured dimension. The formula guide shows the butt-joint and equal-dado versions side by side.
