Method and limits
This calculator compares a uniform grid with the part in its entered orientation and rotated 90 degrees. It is quick and transparent for repeated panels, tiles, blanks, and jig parts.
It does not mix orientations inside the same sheet or combine different part sizes. Those cases need the full cut-list optimizer, which searches a broader set of rectangular splits.
